the white stripes

first photo: mine
second photo: found on internet

The first photograph is one that i took while i was walking in the neighborhood around Ursinus. It is on the property of a house which is very old and looks as if it is from the late 19th/early 20th century. That gives a little background as to how old this barn might be. The house and the barn both were slightly dilapidated and not in the greatest condition, but i really enjoyed looking at them, because they had a vintage appeal to them that isn't very common in the rest of the neighborhood. The barn specifically intrigued me because of color of it, the bright white stripes on the door, and the placement and position of both the tools on the side of it and the bench in front of it. Which brings me to say that my favorite thing about my photo is the balance and contrast of the mahogany bench and the white stripes against the blue paneling of the barn. That's why i chose the photo beneath it from the internet--it has that nice contrast between the rusty red and the white stripes that are on the door and the windows.
