Shiny Diner

The first picture is one I took of the Collegeville Diner.

The second photo was taken by Corky Willis & Associate Atlanta Photography (http://www.corkywillisphoto.com/).

These photos are comparable not only because they have similar subject matter, but they are taken from a similar angle. Each is taken from a low angle, looking up and to the right. These are not straighforward photos. However, the photo of the Mariette Diner is taken closer to eye level than my photo. Also, because of the angle, there is more blank/white space in the top right corner of the photo. Interestingly, the clouds in my photo and the billboard in Willis's photo attempt to fill of that blank space, although they are not entirely successful. The clouds and billboards are also reflected the chrome of both diners.
There is a possibility that, even though I took my photo before I found Corky Willis's, I have seen this type of photo of a diner before. Possibly, I had been previously influenced by these photos when I took mine.
But how can I ever really tell?
