I particularly liked this picture I took of a fire hydrant on campus because of the detail and the way it frames the background, although the background is not in focus due to a shallow depth of field. I chose the one below this to accompany it because I felt this image shared a similar composition, but was also intriguing because it served a photojournalistic purpose. Also, I liked that this photo has detail in the fire hydrant yet also captures the blurred vehicle in the background. This picture was taken by Charles Russo on July 13, 2011.
