Passage of Time

 The above picture served as the inspiration for the picture I took below.  I was attracted to the scattered chaos of the above picture, taken by Tris Vonna-Michell in 2009.  It is called "Wasteful Illuminations."  I chose to imitate it in my own way.  Whereas the photographer above chose to document moments of time through a photograph of photographs, I instead chose my own symbol of passing time: my collection of greeting cards I've received over the years.  I believe both are very good representations of the passing of time.  I also took my photograph in both color and black and white, but decided that the combination of too many colors detracted from the scene, rather than adding to it.
